How to celebrate the Blessing Moon

Full Moon in Capricorn, 16th July 2019

CLAIRE STONE

Our upcoming full moon, is a moon that has many names! The Blessing Moon is also known as the Buck Moon, the Thunder Moon and the Hay Moon! But what do all these things have in common? Energy! Each of these full moon names hints at the surge of life force that is at an all time peak at this time of year.

Thunder Moon– this month is the most likely that you will witness the loud rumbles of thunder in the sky. High amounts of pressure / energy that needs to be released from within ourselves may ‘just come out’ in the season of tension. In the heat of the moment stress or passion can seem to take us over. Channel this excess energy into making something happen. Work on a project, practice chanting, or simply move your body! This moon lands under the Earth sign of Capricorn, which is perfect for drawing us back in to ground and centre ourselves amidst all the excitement in the air!

Buck Moon – New antlers emerge from bucks heads at this time of year. Growth is all around us.

Blessing Moon – With the abundance of magical herbs now ready to harvest this is the perfect time to give thanks, offer blessings, and have sacred ceremonies.

On this full moon, I will be performing my annual house blessing. Click HERE to find out how to perform a house blessing.

Here are some ways in which you can mark the Blessings Moon:

Perform a house blessing.

Make a meal for those you love, take your time to carefully bless the food whilst you are preparing it. Once around the table, tap into the gratitude that you feel for being able to come together, having a roof over your head, and a meal to share. Take it in turns to state what you are grateful for and ask for a blessing for a person who is not at your table.

Make a gratitude list.

Forage for herbs.

Get things off your chest by penning them down and then burning the paper, you could chant Om Ram Ramaya Namaha (7 times) to receive divine assistance and a blessing from the Hindu God Lord Rama. This chant also clears the Solar Plexus Chakra and aids in the balance of Yin and Yang as RA MA heals both lunar and solar energy currents that run throughout you.

I extend many blessings of love, health and happiness under the night of the full moon and beyond

Let me know how you get on in the comments!
